EXIF stands for "Exchangeable Image File Format." This hidden metadata accompanies digital photos providing details such as camera settings or the photo's location. Services that can read this data can assist in contextualizing photos with other events like calendar entries or motion profiles.

Question: Why doesn't the app handle PNG files?

The Photos API does not allow direct modification of PNG files, converting them instead to JPG. As a result, imagExif does not currently support editing PNGs to avoid confusion.
